The Diatryma had her maiden Voyage in 2191 and is now considered the most powerful ship of the citadel armed forces. Her main gun was once a dual mass accelerator, but with the construction of the Thanix Cannons the engineers decided to replace them with a giant heavy Thanix Gun, strong enough to rip apart every known starship with one shot, similar to the Reaper beams. Most systems like propulsion, weapons, Mass Effect field Generators and sensors are reconstructed Reaper technologies. Like the Human pendent, the Sagan class, the Diatryma used Reaper hybrid technologies. In 2190, after a short time of rebuilding economics, the Turians dig out the old super dreadnought project and decided to implement the new gained war tech into their new flagship. Like a miracle, the construction facility left unnoticed by the Reaper forces and the spaceframe survived the war. But the class construction delay due to the construction of the newer Vulture class Dreadnoughts (to surpass the Alliance Kilimanjaro Dreadnought) in 2184 which should compensate the losses at the Citadel battle.īuilding of the basic spaceframe of the Diatryma started in 2185 but with the beginning of the galaxy wide Reaper Attacks the turians abandon the prestige object to mass construct smaller ships which are faster to build for the war.

The first plans of this ship was made during the Geth Conflict in 2183, showing shortcomings during the Battle of the Citadel. The Diatryma class is a unique starship and the turian pendant to the Asari Flagship Destiny Ascension or the Human Sagan class. As such, Dreadnought offers a wide variety of ships for you to add to your fleet, each with their own pros and cons, which include ships that offer heavy, assault, sniper, support or scouting.
